The Association was formed during the Athens Olympic Games of August 2004, as a way of supporting the Bhutanese Olympic Team and its two archers. Formally established according to Greek laws a few months later, the Association aims at building bridges between the two countries, making Bhutan known in Greece and Greece known in Bhutan.
The Association organizes 2-3 events per year, often inviting guest speakers from Bhutan. It is part of an informal international network of similar associations, active in ten European countries.
While most members live in Athens, we have members also from Crete and Thessaloniki, and encourage anyone interested in Bhutan, no matter where in Greece you live, to contact and join us.
